Professional Gamblers, Bettors and Cappers

This is a guideline rating, as determined by SBB and user feedback, indicating how the bookmaker in question reacts to professional gamblers. As this is a very ambiguous area, the ratings are very broad. A tick indicates they like all bettors, professionals, cappers and winners included. A cross indicates they dislike anyone who wins and will usually limit betting volumes of anyone who wins more than they lose, or anyone who bets on obviously high value lines more often than chance would dictate. An N indicates Neutrality, which basically means they are somewhere between the two extremes and will react on a player by player basis. A question mark means we do not know, and we would appreciate feedback that tells us what your experiences with the bookmaker in question are. Generally, only worry about the crosses, because they are the ones which will certainly be problematic.

Number of Alert Programs

Indicates how many alert programs collect lines from this bookmaker. Useful for seeing how popular the bookmaker is and thus how good the bookmaker is likely going to be for your purposes.

Provides all other names that each bookmaker is known by, associated with, or shortened to. This field is also used to indicate merged bookmakers (Mrgd.) and previous names (PN.).

Who Owns This Bookmaker?

This field simply tells you the name of the organisation or parent company that owns or runs the sportsbook in question. This is useful because sometimes a company can own anything from 2 to 40 bookmakers and different companies have different rules for how they handle people using multiple sites. Some companies will only allow you to use one of their websites, others will let you have accounts at all of their sites. Some will remember you across all sites, others will have each site treat you as a new person. Some will have distinct odds for each site, some will have the same odds for all of their websites. Each of these factors can come together in various ways to either create opportunities or problems for professional gamblers. Try sorting by this category to identify bookmaker groups.

Same Odds As Other Sportsbooks?

What other sportsbooks have the same odds feeds as this one? Closely related to the  Owned By column, often several bookmakers will be owned by one company, and that single company will feed the betting odds to all of those websites at the one time. This is important because if one company has an erroneous odd but uses it on 5 or 6 different books, it can look like you have lots of backup options should you miss it, when in reality there is only one company with those odds. I recommend learning the relationships between bookmakers in this regard!

The list of yeses in this category is shrinking everyday. More and more bookmakers are closing their door on USA citizens to avoid the possible risk of legal problems. Tick means they will accept people from the USA, cross means they will not.

How many comments have been left? When was this data last checked?

This column represents Number of Comments, number of times this data has been verified, and the date that this data was last checked or verified. The information is linked to another page which allows you to verify the data (at the click of a button), to report an error in the data for correction, or to leave comments on the bookmaker. The page also displays additional information for the bookmaker and the comments previously left. This information applies to all of the fields in the database for all information, and the spanner icon in the edit column of each other area of the database (betting rules, deposit methods etc) link to exactly the same page. Your assistance in reporting errors in the data, and leaving comments is greatly appreciated.

The Average Maximum Bet / Wager (range)

This is a rough indication of maximum bet or wager you are most likely to see when using this bookmaker. In most cases there will be maximum bets which are lower than the range indicated, and there will be maximum wagers with limits higher than the range indicated, but on average you will find your limit somewhere between this range (unless your account has been specifically limited by the sportsbook in question).

Maximum Bet Shown before betting?

A tick here means that the bookmaker will clearly indicate what the maximum bet amount is before you submit your betting ticket. A cross means that you will only be told the betting max after you attempt to bet, often only if you go over the limit. A magnifying glass means they do tell you, but you have to look for it. You will either be told after the first bet submission (not the final verification), or you will have to click on a link to show the bet max, or you will have to find the bet max in a table. A question mark means we don't know, so please tell us if you do!

Deposit and Reload Bonuses

The Bonus column lists the percentage bonus you will receive on an initial deposit, followed by the maximum actual amount that you can receive from this bonus. Following that, where applicable, standard reload bonuses will be given in the same fashion. So where you see  20% up to $500, 10% up to $200 that means that on your first deposit you can receive up to $500 by depositing $10,000, and that any deposit after that, depending on terms dictated by each respective bookmaker, you can receive up to $200 by depositing $2,000.

Every bonus in every bookmaker has its own set of rules associated with them. You really MUST read the terms and conditions on the specific bookmakers website before acting on the bonus information presented here. Rollover requirements will be described, specific gambling requirements and any other number of restrictions may be outlined. Tennis Player Retirement Rules

This column describes at what point a tennis match must reach before the bet is considered  Action .  A means a single ball/point must be played in order for action,  B means a set must be completed,  C means 2 sets and  D means the full match must be completed. If a player retires before the allotted time your bets will usually be refunded.

Major League Baseball Starting Pitcher Rules

This is an abbreviation of the 3 standard rules encountered across all bookmakers for how they act when a pitcher is changed before a baseball game. A is short for action, meaning that all bets will stand even if a pitcher is changed. L is short for listed, which means that bets will stand only if the listed pitchers start. If either listed pitcher changes before the game, the bets will be refunded. O is short for one of the listed, meaning that you can nominate one of the listed pitchers who must start in order for your bet to see action. If your chosen pitcher is changed, your bet will be refunded, while if the other pitcher is changed, your bet will stand (however this may alter the odds). If several letters are listed it means you can select. So A,L,O means the bookmaker allows you to select what type of bet you want.

NHL Ice Hockey Overtime and Penalty Shootout Rules

This column is a direct quote from each respective sportsbook website about how they handle NHL Ice Hockey overtime and penalty shootouts when it comes to settling bets. Some never include overtime, some always do, some include penalty shootouts in overtime, some include overtime and not penalty shootouts, some simple describe what is and isn t included in each bet. There is a lot of variation, so be sure to read and understand what each bookmaker intends to do with any games that run into overtime!

A safe assumption though, if there is a draw outcome offered, overtime is NOT going to be included.

Fee Incurred for not betting before withdrawing

Notice that most bookmakers have no fee for depositing, and have at least one free withdrawal? This is the case because the bookmakers cover the transaction fees for transferring funds themselves. Every deposit and withdrawal you make, costs the bookmaker money. Thus, if you deposit and withdraw without making a bet, you are causing the bookmaker to pay money for nothing. Without placing any bets, the bookmaker has no chance to make a profit from the fee they are covering, thus they are losing money. To circumvent this, most bookmakers reserve the right to charge you the fee they are slugged with if you do not bet most (or all, depending on bookmaker) of your deposited funds before withdrawing them.

This column indicates whether a bookmaker has this no play fee or not, and how much you are likely to be charged for not betting between deposit and withdrawal. A question mark means that we can find no information about whether the bookmaker charges or not, while a percentage or a currency value indicates how much will be charged for failing to bet. The terms for incurring this fee vary from bookmaker to bookmaker, so you should visit the bookmaker and read their terms and conditions on this matter yourself.

Withdrawal Cost

This column indicates withdrawal fees using this method. If there are free withdrawals the results will indicate the conditions to receive the free withdrawal, and then indicate how much it will cost for withdrawals outside of that condition. So a result of  1 Free on Monday 9-12EST, $15 means you can withdraw from this bookmaker for free as long as you withdraw between the hours of 9am-12pm eastern USA time, otherwise it will cost you $15 to withdraw.

Withdrawal Time

This field indicates how long it takes between requesting a payout, and actually receiving the funds in your e-wallet account. In general though, withdrawals are rarely instant because most sportsbooks want to verify the withdrawal before letting the money go. They are instant as soon as the bookmaker accepts them though.
